Korean Burgers With Gochugaru Bbq Sauce and Kimchi Slaw

Ingredients

  • KIMCHI SLAW
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet All Natural Korean Style Red Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups thinly sliced nappa cabbage
  • 1 Asian pear, thinly sliced
  • GOCHUGARU BBQ SAUCE
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Frenchs Tomato Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon McCormick Gourmet All Natural Korean Style Red Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon McCormick Gourmet Organic Toasted Sesame Seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Organic Ground Ginger
  • KOREAN BURGERS
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick Gourmet All Natural Korean Style Red Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Sicilian Sea Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Organic Ground Ginger
  • 4 hamburger rolls

  1. For the Slaw, mix all ingredients, except cabbage and pear, in large bowl well blended. Add cabbage and pear; toss to coat well. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. For the BBQ Sauce, mix all ingredients in small saucepan. Cook on medium heat 10 to 15 minutes or until heated through and slightly thickened. Let cool Remove 1/4 cup for brushing burgers during cooking. Reserve remaining sauce for serving.
  3. For the Burgers, mix all ingredients, except rolls, in medium bowl until well blended. Shape into 4 patties. Grill burgers over medium heat 4 to 6 minutes per side or until cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F), brushing with 1/4 cup of the BBQ Sauce while cooking. Serve burgers on rolls topped with reserved BBQ Sauce and Kimchi Slaw.
