Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 6 bacon slices, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 (16-oz.) can dark red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (15.8-oz.) can great Northern beans, drained
  • 1 (16-oz.) can butter beans, drained
  • 1 (16-oz.) can red beans, drained
  • 1 (16-oz.) can chili beans, undrained

  1. In a 4-quart Dutch oven cook ground beef over medium-high heat until brown; drain fat and set aside.
  2. Using same Dutch oven, cook onion and bacon over medium-high heat until bacon is crisp. Drain fat. Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, molasses and ketchup. Stir in cooked ground beef, kidney beans, great Northern beans, butter beans, red beans and chili beans. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes more. Serve warm.
