- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly coat a 2-quart square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
- Spread crackers in an even layer in prepared dish. Layer half each of the onions and cheese over the crackers. Repeat layers with remaining onions and cheese. Drizzle reserved liquid over top.
- Bake casserole 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through, and cheese is melted and just starting to brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl combine onions, bouillon granules and 1 cup water. Microwave on HIGH (100% power) 8 to 10 minutes or until onions are translucent, stirring once. Drain onions, reserving 3/4 cup of the liquid.
