- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with foil. In a medium skillet melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; cook and stir until tender. Add lemon pepper; toss to coat. Set aside.
- Cut bread into 16 slices, cutting to but not through the bottom crust. Place on baking sheet. Spread onion mixture between bread slices. Place 1 slice of cheese between each bread slice.
- Bake 6 minutes or until heated through and cheese melts. Serve warm.
