Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole-grain bread
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 large ripe tomato, cut into 8 thin slices
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (4 oz.)

  1. Preheat broiler. Lightly coat both sides of bread slices with cooking spray. Arrange on a baking sheet. Broil 4 inches from heat 1 minute per side or until toasted.
  2. Remove from broiler. Sprinkle bread slices with garlic powder. Arrange 2 tomato slices on each bread slice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with cheese. Return to broiler; broil 1 to 2 minutes more or until cheese is melted and lightly browned. Cut each bread slice into 4 triangles, and serve immediately.
